We are seeking to establish a pool of Special Needs Education Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Landsdale Primary School (PS) is part of the Ashdale cluster of schools which includes Ashdale Secondary College, Ashdale PS, Madeley PS and Carnaby Rise PS. This collaborative partnership creates an integrated, holistic Kindergarten to Year 12 learning community with a shared identity facilitated by geographical proximity and a strong sense of being an inclusive community.

The Role

As a Special Needs Education Assistant you would form part of our dedicated team of staff working with students with a range of special needs including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Global Developmental Delay (GDD) and other mental health and developmental disabilities and/or disorders. In this role, you will collaborate with the classroom teacher to assist in the planning and delivery of educational programs to support the learning and development of students with special needs. Building meaningful relationships with children with special needs and their families will be an important part of this role, and as such, effective communication and interpersonal skills are highly desirable.

The ability to work independently and at times without supervision, and the ability to think on your feet and use your initiative to manage challenging behaviours will be highly regarded. Applicants with experience working with special needs students and, in particular, students with sensory processing disorders would be seen as advantageous.
