Reporting directly to the Senior Administrative Officer, the Economic Development & Communications Manager is a community builder, connector, and catalyst for new opportunities. This position helps identify opportunities, builds the relationships needed to pursue them, and supports initiatives that strengthen Hay River's economy, tourism sector, and quality of life.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:
Attract investment and support business growth
Lead tourism development and destination marketing initiatives
Build partnerships with Indigenous governments, businesses, and regional organizations
Oversee municipal communications and branding
Develop marketing and investment attraction strategies
Secure funding through grant research and applications
Support Council and Administration in advancing community priorities

QUALIFICATIONS:
Diploma or degree in Economic Development, Communications, Business, Public Administration,
Tourism, Marketing/Communications, Urban/Regional Planning, or related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
3–5 years of experience in economic development, tourism/destination marketing, business development, or municipal communications
Ec.D. (Certified Economic Developer) designation or working toward it would be an asset.
Training/experience in Indigenous cultural awareness or partnership engagement considered an asset.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
This management position offers a comprehensive benefits package, pension plan, northern travel allowance and a salary between $95k - $127k, depending on experience.
