Our client is a leading commercial drywall contractor serving the Southeast, recognized for delivering high-quality drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, and interior systems solutions on complex commercial construction projects. With a strong reputation for excellence, safety, and client satisfaction, they are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their growing team in Bremen, Georgia.
Position Summary
The Senior Estimator will play a critical role in the preconstruction process by preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial drywall and interior systems projects. This individual will work closely with project managers, operations teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to ensure successful project bidding and execution.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience estimating commercial drywall projects and a strong understanding of construction methods, materials, labor productivity, and market pricing throughout the Southeast.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, insulation, and related interior systems projects.
Analyze drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine project requirements.
Perform quantity takeoffs and labor calculations using estimating software and industry best practices.
Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
Develop comprehensive bid proposals and scope reviews.
Identify project risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving solutions.
Collaborate with project managers and operations teams during project handoff.
Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client meetings as needed.
Maintain current knowledge of market conditions, material pricing, labor rates, and industry trends.
Build and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, owners, vendors, and subcontractors.
Assist in strategic bidding efforts to support company growth objectives.
Qualifications
8+ years of experience as a Construction Estimator, preferably within commercial drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, or interior systems.
Strong understanding of commercial construction practices and building systems.
Experience estimating projects ranging from small tenant improvements to large-scale commercial developments.
Proficiency with estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoff, QuickBid, Planswift, Bluebeam, or similar platforms.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred but not required.
