Position Overview:
Staymaster is seeking a highly motivated and visionary Director of Technology to spearhead the company's digital transformation journey. As the first technology hire, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of Staymaster's product and services. This is a unique opportunity to join an early-stage startup with the potential to grow into the Chief Technology Officer role within 12-18 months, based on your performance and impact.
Responsibilities:
Technology Strategy and Leadership:
• Develop and execute the technology roadmap in alignment with Staymaster's business goals and objectives.
• Lead and inspire a team of engineers and developers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
• Drive technical decision-making and provide guidance on architecture, infrastructure, and software development methodologies.
Product Development and Digitization:
• Drive the digitization of Staymaster's offerings by conceptualizing, designing, and developing cutting-edge technology solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize digital initiatives that enhance the guest experience and streamline operations.
• Ensure the timely delivery of high-quality software products, leveraging agile methodologies and best practices.
Technical Excellence and Innovation:
• Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation within the organization.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, promoting the adoption of new tools, frameworks, and development practices.
• Champion data-driven decision-making, leveraging analytics and user feedback to optimize product performance and user experience.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
• Collaborate closely with the executive team to align technology initiatives with business objectives and growth strategies.
• Work closely with external partners, vendors, and technology providers to identify opportunities for collaboration and integration.
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex concepts into clear and actionable insights.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
• Proven experience (6+ years) in leading and managing technology teams, preferably in a startup environment.
• Strong background in software development, with expertise in one or more modern programming languages and frameworks.
• Demonstrated success in driving digital transformations and delivering complex technology projects.
• Experience in the hospitality or prop tech industry is highly desirable.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams.
• Strong business acumen, with the ability to understand and align technology initiatives with strategic objectives.
