Duties & Responsibilities

Theatre at Loretto Heights Partnerships Management: Oversee the multi-year, multi-million-dollar contracts with operating partners and campus partners. Ensure that desired performance metrics for the first new venue added to the DAV portfolio in over a decade are met. Additional duties include but are not limited to:

Oversee Community & Stakeholder Relations, serving as the primary City liaison for key Loretto Heights campus stakeholders, including Commún, DSST College View Campus and Denver Public Schools, the Sisters of Loretto, local neighborhood associations, and the cultural sector.

Collaborate closely with DAV’s operations representative and the Loretto Heights Theatre Venue Director to ensure seamless facility management and activation.

Serve as liaison between partner and DAV’s advisory group for the Theatre.

Loretto Heights Library Strategy: Lead the exploration of future uses for the currently unprogrammed Library at Loretto Heights (acquisition finalized in 2023 for $3M). While not part of the Theatre renovation project, it remains an important component of the overall campus. This responsibility includes managing a process with high-level decision makers at other City agencies to identify potential partners who can deliver on Citywide and DENVER CREATES goals while maintaining fiscal responsibility for the agency. Serving as DAV’s lead representative, this work includes but is not limited to leading work with campus partners, CPD and the City’s RE office on potential opportunities for the next stage of the library’s ownership and use.

McNichols Civic Center Building Cultural Partnerships: Oversee and direct contract relationships with multiple partners at the McNichols Civic Center Building, including the museum partner on the second floor and new cultural partners on the first floor, ensuring high-quality public programming that meets the goals of DENVER CREATES. The goal of the new partnerships at the McNichols Building is part of a larger revitalization project to enhance the activation of the venue and the surrounding Civic Center Park while making it a destination for visitors to downtown. As such, this role will be the main representative for McNichols cultural partnerships in any downtown related work in collaboration with such agencies and stakeholders as DEDO, DOTI, Civic Center Conservancy and the Downtown Denver Partnership.

Creative District Leadership: Lead DAV’s partnerships with Colorado’s Creative Districts in Denver – Art District on Santa Fe, Golden Triangle, RiNo, Westwood. This includes the oversight of annual creative district grants and program opportunities. As the main representative for State Certified Creative District Leadership, this position will ensure there is a connection with other City agencies that work on uncertified art & creative areas in Denver, self-identified cultural districts, and designated historic and historic cultural districts, which include DEDO and HRCP, among others.

Jazz Legacy Partnership: Oversight of the Five Points Jazz program with the goal of honoring the history of jazz in Denver’s Harlem of the West and supporting artists and creators that continue this legacy in the Five Points neighborhood today. This work includes responsibility for DAV’s grant fund and collaboration with the Five Points BID.

Cross-Sector & Cultural Collaboration: In partnership with the Deputy Executive Director for Arts & Culture, facilitate and manage additional high-level cultural partnerships that align with the agency's strategic vision and DENVER CREATES.

Portfolio Management:

Financial Administration: Administer the financial operations of the portfolio, including developing the annual operating budget and preparing fiscal reports for review by executive leadership.

Reporting: Prepare reports and present all portfolio initiatives and accomplishments to key stakeholders including City leadership, elected officials, and agency representatives.

Citywide Agency Representation: Serve as the chief representative of the portfolio to city departments, outside agencies, elected officials and key stakeholders including but not limited to the City’s DOF, RE, CPD, DEDO, DOTI, HRCP, and MO.

Internal Coordination: Serve as the "connective tissue" between place-based partners and DAV, specifically Marketing and Venue Operations, to ensure all sites are supported by the agency’s full resource teams. Additionally, partner with the Director-level leadership of the Public Art and Cultural Affairs teams to ensure that DAV programs and initiatives reflect the goals of DENVER CREATES.

Minimum Qualifications

Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Management, or a related field.

Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of professional experience at the type and level of Management Analyst Senior or planning and conducting operational and/or management studies including determining study methods and procedures, analyzing data, developing recommendations and implementation strategies, and preparing reports of findings and recommendations.

Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education.
