Develop and implement strategies and policies to proactively identify and mitigate potential legal issues and incidents on the Discord platform.

Lead and manage a team of legal and incident response professionals, ensuring they are equipped with the resources and support necessary to effectively carry out their responsibilities.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and community, to understand potential risks and develop solutions to address them.

Serve as the primary point of contact for all legal matters and incident response on the Discord platform, responding to inquiries and coordinating with external legal counsel as needed.

Stay up-to-date on relevant laws and regulations, and regularly review and update company policies and procedures to ensure compliance.

Conduct thorough investigations and analysis of reported incidents, and develop appropriate action plans to address any violations of terms of service or community guidelines.

Oversee the creation and maintenance of incident response protocols and procedures, ensuring they are efficient, effective, and align with industry best practices.

Monitor and track incident data and trends, providing regular reports and recommendations to senior leadership on areas for improvement.

Act as a liaison with law enforcement agencies and regulatory bodies, responding to legal requests and providing necessary information and documentation.

Communicate and educate the broader Discord team on legal and incident response matters, raising awareness and promoting a culture of safety and responsibility.

Continuously assess and improve processes and workflows to enhance the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the legal and incident response operations.

Represent Discord in legal and incident response related public relations and media communications, ensuring accurate and timely messaging.

Maintain a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical standards in all interactions and decisions.
