Job Description
The Director of Financial Services provides strategic and operational leadership for the College’s financial functions. Reporting to the Vice President, Finance and Infrastructure & CFO, the Director is responsible for financial reporting, compliance, planning and budgeting, and internal controls, while supporting the long-term financial sustainability of the institution.
This role partners closely with academic and administrative leaders, ensuring financial resources are managed responsibly and aligned with the College’s mission, strategic plan, and legislative requirements.

Compliance, audit and internal Controls
Funding, revenue and grants management
Leadership and team development
Systems and process improvement
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
CPA designation
8–12 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting
3–5 years of leadership or management experience
Experience in a post-secondary institution, public sector, or large non-profit organization is preferred
Experience managing complex, multi-source funding environments
Strong knowledge of public sector and/or fund accounting
Advanced financial planning, budgeting, and analytical skills
Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders
Strong leadership, collaboration, and relationship-management skills
High level of integrity, judgment, and professionalism
Experience with ERP and financial reporting systems

This Administrative Group position is based at Lakeland College's Vermilion campus with a salary range of $129,877 to $170,086 per annum. In addition to competitive compensation, Lakeland offers a comprehensive benefits package and generous vacation and leave provisions.
