Role: Direct Tax – Senior Consultant
Location: Delhi
Experience: 1+ Years
Qualification: CA or CS (Mandatory)
Working Days: 6 Days a Week
Working Hours: 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM
Role Overview
The Direct Tax Senior Consultant will be responsible for handling direct tax compliance, assessments, and litigation matters. The role requires hands-on experience in representing clients before tax authorities and supporting senior team members in complex tax matters, including search and seizure cases.
Key Responsibilities
• Handle direct tax compliance for individuals, firms, LLPs, and companies
• Manage income tax assessments, reassessments, and rectification proceedings
• Prepare and file responses to notices issued under the Income-tax Act
• Assist and independently handle tax litigation matters before:
• Income Tax Authorities
• CIT (Appeals)
• ITAT (as applicable to experience level)
• Support matters related to Search & Seizure, including:
• Post-search assessments
• Preparation of submissions and documentation
• Draft written submissions, appeals, and legal representations
• Conduct tax research and interpret provisions of the Income-tax Act and judicial precedents
• Coordinate with clients, tax authorities, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely closure of matters
Desired Skills & Competencies
• Strong working knowledge of Indian Direct Tax laws
• Practical exposure to litigation and tax assessment proceedings
• Experience in Search & Seizure cases is highly preferred
• Good drafting and documentation skills
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and work under tight timelines
• Strong communication and client-handling skills
Eligibility Criteria
• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or Company Secretary (CS)
• Minimum 1+ year of relevant experience in direct tax
• Prior experience with a CA firm, tax consultancy, or legal firm preferred
