We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer to join our team, specializing in part modeling, sheet metal, piping, and assembly. This role involves working with advanced design software tools and requires expertise in mechanical and piping design. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating detailed designs and models, interpreting technical specifications, and interacting effectively with stakeholders to implement changes.
Responsibilities
• Create and refine Bill of Materials (BOM) using Windchill, including defining commercial references.
• Utilize CAD software tools such as Creo Version 9.0 for design tasks.
• Understand and work through different phases of projects, including conceptual and detailed designs for mechanical and piping-related tasks.
• Design and model sheet metal and piping components in both 2D and 3D, utilizing top-down and bottom-up assembly construction techniques.
• Convert models from surface to solid for sheet metal or plastic parts.
• Design and develop electromechanical parts, ensuring integration with HVAC and CHVAC systems.
• Interpret technical specifications and application constraints to create meaningful product representations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to explain Engineering Change Notices (ECN), Engineering Change Requests (ECR), BOM changes, and Windchill mass BOM change procedures.
• Provide insights into fabrication, construction, and installation activities, although detailed involvement is not required.
Essential Skills
• Proficient in using Creo and Windchill software.
• Strong understanding of HVAC, piping, sheet metal, and assembly design.
• Experience with electromechanical parts and HVAC systems.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and constraints.
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder interaction.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Experience with top-down and bottom-up assembly construction.
• Knowledge of surface to solid conversion for sheet metal or plastic parts.
• Exposure to fabrication, construction, and installation activities.
Work Environment
The role involves working with advanced CAD tools in a collaborative environment. The design engineer will engage with stakeholders to implement design changes, and the position may involve exposure to fabrication and installation processes.
