The Wedding Company is India's largest wedding planning and fulfillment company, managing an annual GMV of $10M, and disrupting the $130bn market (4% of India's GDP). The Wedding Company has raised a seed round from prominent investors like Arash Ferdowsi, Dropbox co-founder and Chaitanya Ramalingegowda, Wakefit cofounder.
Role Overview
The Decor Planning Specialist will be responsible for growing The Wedding Company’s decor business in Rajasthan, working across vendor coordination, commercial negotiations, decor costing, and client requirements. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys both the commercial and creative sides of wedding decor and wants to take ownership of building a category in a growing market. As the Rajasthan business grows, the role will have the opportunity to specialise into either vendor-side operations or client-facing decor sales and planning, based on the candidate’s strengths, interests, and growth trajectory.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage decor vendor assignments and relationships across Rajasthan
2. Coordinate decor costing and negotiate with vendors to ensure competitive commercials
3. Ensure decor proposals maintain the required company standards
4. Work closely with client-facing teams to identify and convert decor opportunities
5. Understand client requirements, budgets, and aesthetics to recommend relevant decor solutions
6. Support the end-to-end decor booking process, from requirement understanding to vendor coordination and closure
7. Build strong knowledge of the Rajasthan decor market, vendors, pricing, and trends
8. Identify opportunities to increase decor service bookings, revenue, and overall category performance
Ideal Candidate Profile
1. 2 - 5 years of experience in wedding decor, event production, decor planning, vendor management, or a related role
2. Strong understanding of wedding decor, production, and costing
3. Good negotiation and commercial skills
4. Strong communication and relationship-management abilities
5. Comfortable working with targets and taking ownership of outcomes
6. Detail-oriented, organised, and able to manage multiple requirements simultaneously
7. Entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to build a growing business vertical
8. Experience in the Rajasthan wedding market is a strong plus
