Qualifications
3 years of experience with a BS Degree in Computer Science or IT-related field
In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required
Proficient in Oracle DBA, specifically Oracle 12c and 1+c
Experience with various Oracle versions on Azure and on-premises environments
SQL and Performance Tuning:
Lumen and / or its clients will not provide equipment (Laptop, monitor, etc.)
Access to a virtual desktop set up (software) will be provided by Lumen’s client, allowing the user access to the required systems and technology
Responsibilities
Expert in SQL and performance tuning
Position requires working Wednesday through Sunday, with a lot of maintenance on Sunday
Start time is 8 AM EST
Database Design and Maintenance:
Designs, implements, and maintains databases with respect to access methods, access time, batch processes, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods
Maintains database dictionaries and integrates systems through database design
Maintains and documents shell scripts and batch processes
Database Backup and Recovery:
Develops and applies procedures for periodic database backup
Maintains database backup and recovery
Performance Monitoring and Security:
Monitors database performance and assists with database security
Develops and implements techniques to prevent system problems, troubleshoots incidents to recover services, and supports root cause analysis
Technical and Functional Testing:
Validates, loads, tests, and verifies data
Performs complete functional testing of database structures and verifies information provided in all environments including development, test, and production
Project Management Support:
Provides project management support regarding technical aspects of implementing project release upgrades
Develops project plans, complete documentation, and coordinate appropriate actions for timely resolution
