Job description
We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Corporation Tax Manager to lead and develop our in-house Corporation Tax function. This is a senior opportunity for a tax-qualified professional who will initially support our R&D tax claim filing requirements and, over time, build and head up a fully operational Corporation Tax service line from the ground up.
This role is fully remote and offers significant autonomy, leadership opportunity, and long-term progression. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of our tax offering and building a team beneath them.
Key Responsibilities Corporation Tax Compliance
• Preparation and review of CT600 returns and associated computations
• Submission of UK corporation tax returns and related filings
• Oversight of quarterly instalment payments where applicable
• Ensuring compliance with UK corporate tax legislation and HMRC requirements
• Managing tax deadlines and risk exposure
R&D Tax Claims Support
• Preparing and submitting R&D claim computations and disclosures
• Integrating R&D claims within CT600 filings
• Liaising with technical teams to ensure robust and compliant submissions
• Managing HMRC enquiries relating to R&D claims
Service Line Development
• Establishing and developing a standalone Corporation Tax service offering
• Designing internal processes, compliance frameworks, and quality control procedures
• Building and mentoring a Corporation Tax team
• Contributing to commercial strategy, pricing, and client engagement
• Identifying growth opportunities within the UK tax advisory space
Leadership & Strategy
• Acting as the technical lead for UK Corporation Tax matters
• Advising directors on tax risk and structuring considerations
• Supporting long-term scaling of the tax function
• Maintaining high standards of technical excellence and compliance
Candidate Requirements: Essential
• CTA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent tax qualification
• Extensive experience preparing and reviewing CT600 returns
• Strong technical knowledge of UK corporation tax legislation
• Significant experience with UK tax submissions and compliance processes
• Background within a large accountancy firm or reputable tax advisory practice
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to build processes from scratch
• Excellent written and technical communication skills
Desirable
• Experience preparing and filing R&D tax claims
• Experience developing or scaling a tax function or service line
• Leadership or team management experience
• Experience working in a fast-growth or entrepreneurial environment
