Job Description
As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing efficient and scalable data pipelines using MS Fabric. You will develop robust data models to support business intelligence and analytical needs. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing and optimizing ETL processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define and refine data requirements
- Ensuring data quality, accuracy, and consistency across systems and processes
- Applying best practices in data management, storage, and processing
- Conducting performance tuning of storage and queries for optimal efficiency
- Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for data architecture and flows
- Troubleshooting data-related issues and providing timely solutions
- Monitoring and optimizing cloud-based data solutions for scalability and cost-efficiency
- Researching and evaluating emerging data tools and technologies for potential adoption
- Assisting in the design and implementation of data governance frameworks and policies
- Mentoring and providing technical guidance to junior data engineers
- Participating in code reviews and ensuring adherence to development standards
- Staying current with industry trends, tools, and best practices in data engineering
Your qualifications for this role should include:
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in data engineering roles
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Fabric and related technologies
- Proficiency in SQL and relational database management systems
- Experience in data warehousing, data modeling, and design of scalable systems
- Solid hands-on experience with ETL tools and workflows
- Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
- Familiarity with Python or similar programming/scripting languages
- Strong communication skills, especially in explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Demonstrated experience implementing data quality measures and data governance
- Exceptional problem-solving and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently in a remote or distributed team environment
- Exposure to data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus
- Excellent organizational, time management, and analytical skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience working within Agile methodologies and project tracking tools
