Christchurch City Council's Regulatory Compliance Unit is responsible for ensuring that we achieve community outcomes while meeting legislative requirements. Food Safety, Environmental Health, Animal Management, and Alcohol Licensing are just some areas we regulate to ensure the safety of our community.

About the role | Ko te mahi nei

Our Customer Services Triage Officers provide professional business administration and customer support for our field staff, namely the Animal Management Officers, Compliance Officers and Environmental Health Officers within the Regulatory Compliance Unit. The team triage service requests, allocate work efficiently and dispatch Officers following the Regulatory Compliance strategy and within relevant legislative requirements whilst delivering exceptional and timely customer service.

We are looking for someone to join us in a 12 month fixed term capacity.

You will be able to engage with others and provide exemplary service to our customers. You will be an adaptable problem solver and be able to take action, looking beyond the obvious for solutions. This role will require you to manage your workload but will see you collaborating with your team members to achieve goals. Strong, respectful communication is a must, both verbal and written. You will also have:

Minimum Certificate in Business Administration or other relevant qualification/s with extensive experience working with legislation.
Three years' experience in administering legislation in a compliance/regulatory environment.
Ability to work under pressure and cope with variable workloads
Accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work
A high degree of knowledge and interpretation of legislation and bylaws.

Position - Fixed term full time
Location - This position is primarily based at 10 Metro Place, Bromley
Salary - The salary band for this position goes from $74,394 to $82,660 per annum based on a 40 hour week. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
