Court Reporters (Transcribers) Fulltime Permanent
The role involves transcribing a variety of court and other cases in a fast-paced work environment. This includes Criminal, Family, Civil, Environment, Coronial and Employment hearings.
As a Court Reporter, you will be part of a national network working together behind the scenes to transcribe audio recorded anywhere in the country.
You will have the opportunity to work entirely from home, based at a Ministry of Justice site, or in a hybrid arrangement. We also have a high demand for te reo transcription services within the Ministry.
Key Responsibilities
Accurately record and transcribe court proceedings
Meet deadlines and productivity targets
Work effectively in a team environment
Communicate with colleagues and court registry staff
Requirements
70+ words per minute accurate audio-typing base speed
High standard of written English (comprehension, vocabulary, punctuation, spelling and grammar)
Proficient in Windows-based environment (MSWord) and ability to learn new systems
Composure under pressure and adaptability
Ability to understand and apply legal protocols and court procedures
