Cost Analyst
Job Description
The Cost Analyst will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and controlling costs across various departments. This role will focus on evaluating cost structures and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Pricing Analysis: Analyze the cost structure for products and services to ensure competitive pricing and maintain profitability. Maintain price list, propose & implement price increases/decreases, product discontinuation, involvement in new product pricing.
Cost Analysis: Analyze direct and indirect costs, variances, and trends to identify areas for improvement.
Data Collection & Reporting: Gather cost data from various departments, vendors, and internal sources. Generate accurate and timely reports highlighting key findings and trends.
Secondary Responsibilities
Cost Control: Identify cost control measures and strategies to improve efficiency and reduce waste. Monitor the execution of cost-saving initiatives and provide progress updates.
Inventory Management: Work closely with inventory and supply chain teams to monitor and analyze inventory costs, including materials, labor, and overheads.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in cost analysis, financial analysis, or accounting.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems. Visual knowledge is an asset.
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
CPA, CMA, or other relevant certifications.
Experience in a manufacturing, production, or retail environment.
Knowledge of cost accounting methodologies and principles.
