Job Description
Cost Analyst must report closely to the operating partners on metrics for strategic decision support. Candidate will assist the business by creating/maintaining key financial reports. He/she will work closely with the accounts team in order to carry out the same. Candidate must be capable to perform in a fast paced, dynamic and entrepreneurial environment. He/she should be a self starter with limited need for direct supervision and should have a motivation to assume responsibility and strive for promotions year after year.
Location: The position’s location is Kolkata, India. Candidate will be required to physically attend work.
Cost Analyst Responsibilities
• Perform financial reporting, operational metrics tracking and variance analysis
• Analyze financial data, evaluate financial performance and provide trend analysis
• Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting and inventory monitoring
• Guide the cost analysis process and aid in capital budgeting and expenditure planning
• Provide cost and financial analysis to support operational teams and identify cost-saving opportunities
• Develop and maintain cost accounting policies and procedures, cost standards, and budgets/forecasts
• Prepare and analyze financial reports related to cost accounting, including cost of goods sold and gross margin analysis
• Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and Excel dashboards
• Increase productivity by developing automated reporting/forecasting tools
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards related to cost accounting
• Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems, as well as Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
Minimum requirements
• 0-3+ years of business finance or other relevant experience
• High proficiency in financial modeling techniques
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices.
• BA, BS, or B.Com degree required (Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics)
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and priorities, and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment. MBAs are preferred
• Cost accounting degree
• Proven work experience in a quantitatively-heavy role

Salary: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
