Your Role as a Corporate Tax Assistant Manager:

Our Corporate Tax team are rapidly expanding and recruiting a Corporate Assistant Tax Manager to join our team in Birmingham.

Key Responsibilities
Preparation and submission of Corporation Tax Computations and CT600’s
Dealing with basic tax queries on behalf of clients
Contact with H M Revenue Customs as necessary
Routine tax advisory assignments under the guidance of the Tax Managers, Tax Directors and Tax Partners
Managing a small portfolio of clients
To assist with the management of a portfolio of clients to ensure that all Tax computations and Corporate Tax Returns are prepared and submitted to H M Revenue Customs by the due dates
Calculation of the client’s tax liabilities together with a reconciliation of the tax due and advising clients accordingly
Initial preparation for meetings under the instruction and guidance of the Tax Partners and other senior members of the Tax Department
Attendance at meetings with clients, potential clients and contact with the Tax Partner and other senior members of the Tax Department
Preparation of meeting notes using the firm’s standard format
Circulation of meeting notes and following up on action points
General client administration
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Working towards ACA/CTA
Applies technical skills to provide solutions to client via an understanding of the tax system.
To be proactive in identifying changes in the legislation and how these impacts on own client base
Ensures application of the firm’s technical standards in carrying out own work
Maintains and develops technical knowledge through appropriate training
Seeks advice where appropriate in order to minimise risk
Uses IT software efficiently to carry out work
Delegates work to junior staff and reviews work for technical accuracy
Develops a specialism in insolvencies / academies / not for profit
