Corporate Staff Accountant
Job Description
The Staff Accountant will report directly to the Account Manager and Director of Corporate Accounting and will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial and accounting information for all Corporate clients within the Corporate Accounting & Business Department.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
· Maintain timely and accurate communication with team and clients to manage expectations, deadlines, and deliverables.
· Establish Chart of Accounts and assign entries to proper accounts.
· Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts.
· Reconcile bank/credit card statements.
· Develop, implement, and modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems using current technology.
· Support tax return preparation, ensuring compliance with all tax requirements.
· Present new ideas and improvements for ways of performing tasks to achieve Firm and departmental goals.
Skills & Qualifications:
· Strong analytical, research, and critical thinking skills.
· Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
· Ability to perform on multiple engagements.
· Excellent communication and writing skills.
· Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks.
· CCH software experience (preferred).
· Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
· Highly motivated with the ability to multi-task.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (preferred).
· 3+ years tax experience in a public accounting firm.
Salary:
Commensurate with experience ($65,000 - $85,000)
