We're looking for a motivated Cook/Catering Assistant to join our team in Matamata, helping provide nutritious, home-style meals and exceptional service to our 25 residents and Meals on Wheels recipients.
This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. You'll be part of a supportive team that takes pride in delivering quality food and creating positive dining experiences for our residents every day.
What You'll Be Doing
Preparing, cooking, and serving wholesome, nutritious meals
Assisting with menu preparation and accommodating special dietary requirements
Monitoring food quality throughout preparation and service
Ensuring food safety standards and regulations are consistently met
Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment
Supporting kitchen operations and stepping up as the sole cook on duty when required
Working alongside a dedicated team to deliver outstanding service to residents
About You
We're looking for someone who:
Has previous kitchen or cooking experience
Enjoys preparing quality food and takes pride in their work
Understands dietary requirements, allergens, and food safety practices
Has a positive, friendly, and engaging personality
Enjoys interacting with residents and contributing to their wellbeing
Is a reliable team player with a flexible, can-do attitude
Has excellent time management and organisational skills
Can work confidently and safely in a commercial kitchen environment
Is willing to work across a 7-day roster as required
