The Controls Assurance Innovation team is a Centre of Excellence (CoE) team within Retail Banking Services. The purpose of CoE teams is to perform risk management activities to support the Retail Bank deliver customer outcomes safely and identify / protect RBS from risk events that may have customer or regulatory impact.

Your Impact:

The Controls Assurance Analyst is responsible for following best practice to conduct Design and Operating Effectiveness Testing for Key (Manual IT Dependent) Business controls. They achieve this through:

Assist with testing requirements outlined in the RBS Controls Assurance CAP Schedule.
Reporting of Controls Assurance Outcomes to key business stakeholders including Business / Process Owners and Chapter Leads.
Support the CoE Controls Team in driving continual improvement and best practice approaches to Controls Assurance.
Your responsibilities will include:

Adhere to the Code of Conduct . The Code of Conduct sets the standards of behaviour, actions and decisions we expect from our people.
Participate in the monitoring, assessment and testing of controls.
Assess the design and effectiveness of controls, including how they are operationalised by the business.
Develop assurance findings, focusing on developing intelligence that protects the organisation and customers from risk.
Identify any control weaknesses or gaps and perform root cause analysis and reporting requirements.
Provide advice on remediation strategies and recommendations.
Contribute to the design of control enhancements, including solutions to digitise and automate controls.
Identify opportunities to improve controls monitoring, assurance and testing including technology solutions.
Complete reporting of assurance outcomes and actions.
Work closely with the business to ensure optimisation of controls testing.
Contribute to a proactive risk and control culture.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to think critically and analytically and use data driven insights to solve problems.
Experience with SQL would be beneficial.
