The Projects Contracts and Tendering Specialist is responsible for executing end-to-end contract management activities in direct support of the underground projects team. This is a hands-on, site-based role focused on ensuring effective contractor management and tendering processes, and rapid commercial response to evolving operational needs.
The role partners closely with site project teams and operational teams to deliver safe, cost-effective, and timely procurement outcomes in a dynamic mining environment.
Execute sourcing events (RFQ/RFP) with a focus on speed, commercial rigor, and operational fit-for-purpose outcomes
Develop scopes of work in collaboration with projects management team
Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers and contractors, balancing cost, risk, and schedule impacts
Draft, administer, and manage contracts, including service agreements, hire contracts, and supply agreements
Act as the primary on-site commercial interface for contractors, addressing day-to-day issues, variations, and claims
Manage contractor performance against safety, cost, and delivery KPIs in alignment with site expectations
Ensure critical spares, consumables, and services are procured and delivered to prevent construction disruptions
Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks, particularly those impacting construction schedules
Manage contract variations, change orders, and dispute resolution in a timely and commercially sound manner
Maintain accurate contract records within company systems
Support site budgeting, forecasting, and cost control initiatives
Drive continuous improvement in contract processes, supplier performance, and cost efficiency
Qualifications
5+ years of procurement and contracts experience, with strong preference for mining or heavy industrial site experience
Proven experience managing contracts in a fast-paced, project management environment
Strong understanding of mining services, equipment, and infrastructure
Experience with contract models including schedule of rates, unit pricing, and service-based contracts
Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Pronto, etc.)

Strong commercial and negotiation capability in high-pressure, time-sensitive situations
Ability to balance operational urgency with commercial discipline
Effective stakeholder engagement with frontline supervisors through to senior leadership
Practical problem-solving mindset with a bias for action
High level of organization and attention to detail
Ability to manage competing priorities in a continuously changing environment
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear, and see.
Must be able to work shift work with 12-hour shifts.
Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the workday.
Work is in a surface mine plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity.
Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine environment, including hart hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves, and any other protective equipment as required.
