Content Creator / Social Media Growth Coordinator
Job Description
Prairie Fence Inc. — Spruce Grove / Parkland County / Edmonton Area
Prairie Fence Inc. is looking for a local, creative, and highly motivated Field Content Creator / Social Media Growth Coordinator to help us build a stronger brand, create engaging jobsite content, and turn social media into a real competitive advantage for our business.
We are looking for someone who can help Prairie Fence become the most visible, trusted, and recognizable fence and gate company in our market.
Prairie Fence is a family-owned fencing company serving Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, Edmonton, Parkland County, and surrounding areas. We work on acreage fencing, farm fencing, horse fencing, chain link, commercial fencing, custom gates, and automated driveway gate systems.
Our goal is to use social media to show the quality of our work, the process behind what we do, the people behind the company, and the finished results we deliver for customers.
About the Role
This is a local, field-based content and marketing role.
You will be responsible for helping create and execute a social media strategy that builds trust, increases brand awareness, and helps generate qualified leads for Prairie Fence.
The content style we are interested in is process-driven. We want to show real projects from start to finish: the planning, the jobsite, the equipment, the crew, the problem solving, the craftsmanship, and the final result.
We are looking for someone who understands engaging short-form video, storytelling, social media trends, and how to make real work interesting to watch.
Key Responsibilities
Help develop and execute a social media strategy for Prairie Fence
Capture photo and video content from real jobsites
Create engaging short-form videos and posts for social media
Show the process behind our fence and gate projects, not just the finished product
Highlight our work, crew, equipment, craftsmanship, and customer results
Help build Prairie Fence into a more recognizable and trusted local brand
Track what content is working and adjust the strategy over time
Work with management to identify strong content opportunities and growth ideas
Using humour to generate engagement and drive our brand image
What We Are Looking For
The right person is creative, reliable, local, and comfortable around real jobsites.
You should be able to take initiative, come up with ideas, test different types of content, and figure out what works. We are not looking to micromanage every post or tell you exactly how to do the job. We want someone who can bring ideas, creativity, and strategy to the table.
You do not need to be a fencing expert, but you must be willing to learn what makes a quality fence or gate system and how to communicate that clearly to customers.
Required Skills
Strong understanding of social media and short-form video
Ability to film and edit quality content
Good eye for storytelling, process, and before-and-after transformations
Strong writing skills for captions and posts
Comfortable visiting jobsites and being around equipment, tools, rural properties, and active construction work
Organized, reliable, and able to work independently
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Local to the Spruce Grove / Stony Plain / Parkland County / Edmonton area
Nice to Have
Experience creating content for trades, construction, landscaping, agriculture, outdoor work, equipment, or local service businesses
Basic knowledge of Meta ads, Google Business Profile, or social media analytics
Photography or videography experience
Interest in rural life, acreages, farms, horses, construction, equipment, or trades
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role means social media becomes more than just posting. It should help Prairie Fence build trust, stand out from competitors, and create more qualified opportunities for the business.
We will be looking for:
Consistent, high-quality, funny content
Stronger local brand recognition
Increased engagement from potential customers
More quote requests that mention social media
A growing library of jobsite and project content
Content that makes customers trust Prairie Fence before they call
90-Day Trial Period
We are looking to start this role as a 90-day trial/pilot project.
During the first 90 days, the focus will be on testing content styles, capturing jobsite footage, building consistency, and learning what type of content creates the most value for the business.
At the end of the trial period, we will review performance and determine whether to continue, expand, or adjust the role.
Compensation
$32–$40/hour depending on experience
Approximately 15–25 hours per week to start
Mileage paid for approved jobsite travel
Initial 90-day trial period with the opportunity for extension
Performance bonus available based on content output, qualified leads, and campaign results
Important Notes
Because this role involves active jobsites, safety and professionalism are extremely important. The successful candidate must respect customer privacy, follow jobsite rules, and understand that content should never interfere with the crew’s work.
Employee and customer privacy must be respected at all times. No customer addresses, private property details, license plates, gate codes, security features, or identifiable private information should be posted without approval.
All photos, videos, edited content, captions, and creative assets produced for Prairie Fence will remain the property of Prairie Fence Inc.
How to Apply
Please send us:
A short introduction about yourself
Examples of social media content, videos, or pages you have created
Links to any projects, brands, businesses, or social media accounts you have personally worked on or helped grow
A brief explanation of your role in those projects/accounts
Any results you helped create, such as follower growth, increased engagement, leads, views, website traffic, or sales
Any experience with construction, trades, landscaping, agriculture, local business, or field-based content

Your proposal should include:

Which platforms you would focus on first

How you would measure whether the strategy is working
We want to see how you think, what ideas you bring to the table, and whether you understand how social media could become a real competitive advantage for a local trades business.
Pay: $32.00-$35.00 per hour
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Carvel, AB
