About ZOCA
We are at $2.5Mn+ ARR, 1000+ beauty and wellness businesses on the platform, and a $6M Series A behind us. We are not starting out. But we are also nowhere close to where we want to be.
Zoca is building the growth infrastructure that small beauty and wellness businesses have never had access to. Online visibility, bookings, payments, customer retention, voice AI.
We want people who will think, challenge, ship, and own outcomes.
Why this role exists
There are roughly 8.5 million local service businesses in the United States. Almost every tool ever built for them helps run the business. Almost none of them brings anyone through the door.One of the things we sell is visibility. Getting a salon or a med spa ranked on Google and recommended by AI assistants when someone nearby is looking for what they do. That makes this role unusual, and it is the reason it is interesting. The most convincing proof we could possibly show a customer is our own results. Nobody is building that proof right now. That is the job.
Your first 90 days
• Ship the first four episodes on cadence, without the cadence slipping.
• Audit our own website against the exact standard we sell to customers, then close the gaps you find.
• Build a real presence in at least five owner communities. Useful first, promotional never.
• Publish one piece of original research built on numbers you generated yourself.
What We Are Looking For
• 3 - 5 years in content marketing, with genuine video experience. You do not need to edit. You do need to research, script, storyboard, and direct someone who does.
• Real SEO ability, including a working understanding of how AI assistants decide what to cite. This is not a role for someone who briefs an agency and reviews a report.
• You have grown an audience somewhere from close to nothing, and you can show us the numbers.
• You are comfortable in communities where being useful is the entry price and a sales pitch gets you removed.
• Every number you publish has to trace back to something we actually ran. If that constraint sounds annoying rather than fun, this is not your role.
What This Is Not
Not a blog factory. Not a social media scheduler. Not a role where AI writes the drafts and you tidy them up. We publish less than most companies our size, and we expect each thing to be worth somebody's time.
You will also work closely with our founder, who appears in every episode. If you would rather work at a distance from the person whose voice is on the product, you will find this uncomfortable.
How To Apply
Skip the cover letter. Do this instead. It should take you under two hours, and we read every single one.
Part one. Write a 30-second script on where a salon's next client comes from. Around 75 words. Make it something a booking app could not have said.Part two, which matters more. Pick any United States zip code. Ask ChatGPT to recommend a med spa there. Tell us who it named, why you think it named them, and what the businesses it ignored would have to change. Then tell us what you would title that episode.
