NOW HIRING: Construction Site Foreman

LOCATION: Centennial Auto Group - Primarily PEI locations

HOURS: Full Time, permanent, 40 -44 hours per week (some flexibility required).

COMPENSATION: $28.00 - $34.00/hr, plus benefits (negotiable based on skills and experience)

THE PERFECT FIT:

You are an experienced Construction Supervisor who leads by example, inspires crews, and consistently delivers safe, high-quality projects on schedule. You possess strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills, with the ability to motivate teams, resolve conflicts, and maintain productivity in a fast-paced construction environment. You are highly knowledgeable in construction methods, materials, equipment, quality control, and workplace health and safety regulations. You confidently interpret blueprints, specifications, schedules, and building codes to effectively direct field operations while ensuring compliance with project requirements and company standards.


APPLICABLE SKILLS/ QUALIFICATIONS:

Proven experience supervising construction crews on commercial, or residential projects.

Strong leadership, team management, and conflict-resolution skills.

Excellent knowledge of construction methods, materials, tools, and equipment.

Ability to interpret blueprints, construction drawings, specifications, and project schedules.

Thorough understanding of workplace health and safety regulations and safe work practices.

Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to coordinate and work collaboratively with project managers, subcontractors, inspectors, and clients.

Problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.

Knowledge of quality control standards and construction best practices.

Basic computer skills, including proficiency with email, digital reporting, and construction management software.

Ability to perform physically demanding work and work in varying weather conditions as required.

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (if required).

First Aid/CPR certification and other applicable safety certifications are considered an asset.

High school diploma or equivalent;

Red Seal in Carpentry or post-secondary education in construction or a related field is considered an asset.

Several years of progressive construction experience, including supervisory responsibilities.

Demonstrated knowledge of construction practices, safety regulations, and project coordination.

Ability to lead crews in a fast-paced construction environment while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.


JOB TASKS:

Supervise and direct daily activities of construction crews and subcontractors.

Plan, assign, and monitor work to ensure productivity and project milestones are achieved.

Ensure all work is completed according to project specifications, drawings, building codes, and quality standards.

Conduct daily safety meetings, enforce safety policies, and promote a safe work environment.

Identify and correct unsafe conditions and report incidents in accordance with company procedures.

Coordinate the delivery and proper use of materials, equipment, and tools.

Monitor project progress and communicate updates, delays, and issues to the Project Manager.

Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents to guide and carry out field operations.

Inspect completed work to verify quality and compliance with project requirements.

Train, mentor, and evaluate crew members while promoting teamwork and professional development.

Maintain accurate daily reports, including labour hours, equipment usage, material quantities, and site activities.

Coordinate inspections with project management and ensure deficiencies are corrected promptly.

Resolve on-site issues quickly to minimize delays and maintain productivity.

Manage site housekeeping and ensure the worksite remains organized and secure.

Assist project management with scheduling labour and equipment to maximize operational efficiency.

Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, inspectors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

Ensure compliance with all company policies, environmental regulations, and applicable legislation.

Perform other related duties as assigned in support of project objectives.

Operate site related equipment safely

Help coordinate maintenance of equipment when required.
