Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled CAD Technician to produce accurate technical drawings and plans for construction and manufacturing projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of building systems, structural components, and fabrication requirements, and will work closely with project engineers, architects, and field teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other CAD software.
Create blueprints and schematics for steel roofing, building layouts, and custom components.
Collaborate with engineers, architects, and production teams to ensure drawing accuracy and feasibility.
Revise and update existing CAD drawings based on engineering changes, markups, and redlines.
Maintain organized digital drawing files and documentation according to company standards.
Assist in developing layouts and fabrication plans for construction and manufacturing projects.
Support quality assurance by reviewing dimensions, materials, and tolerances in draft plans.
Participate in site visits and project meetings as required to support design coordination.
Qualifications:

Diploma or certificate in Computer-Aided Design, Drafting, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in a CAD Technician or Draftsperson role (construction or manufacturing preferred).
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, or similar drafting tools.
Strong understanding of construction materials, fabrication processes, and building codes.
Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering instructions.
Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a team environment.
Assets (Preferred but Not Required):

Experience with steel roofing systems or prefabricated components.
Knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modeling) platforms.
Familiarity with CNC programming or CAD/CAM integration.
