Community and Digital Engagement Assistant
Location: Kentville, Nova Scotia (Travel within West Hants, Kings, Annapolis and Digby Counties may be required)
Job Type: Temporary, Full-Time (Canada Student Jobs-Summer Position)
Duration: + weeks, 30 hours per week
Wage: $16.20/hour
Position Overview:
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Annapolis Valley is hiring a Summer Student through the Canada Summer Jobs program to support mentoring initiatives and community engagement. This is a hands-on opportunity for a student interested in non-profit work, digital engagement and community outreach.
Key Responsibilities:
Contribute to planning and delivering community and fundraising events
Attend community fairs, markets and events on behalf of BBBSAV
Help recruit volunteers
Support group and match activities.
Provide administrative support including scheduling, data entry, and filing.
Represent the organization at public events, ensuring a welcoming and professional presence.
Support and grow the organization’s social media presence
Speak on the radio during weekly announcements
Eligibility Requirements (Canada Summer Jobs Program):
Between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the job.
Legally entitled to work in Canada.
Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person with refugee protection.
Possess a valid Social Insurance Number.
Desired Qualifications:
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Previous experience with youth or in a community setting is an asset.
Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
Familiar with Microsoft Office and basic digital tools.
Reliable transportation
Social Media experience
Work Environment:
Based at our Kentville office with travel throughout the Annapolis Valley.
Evenings or weekends may be required for events or outreach activities.
