About the Role
Can you tell a story, write brilliant copy, create great social media content and work as part of a team?
If so, we want to hear from you.
The borough of Rochdale is changing fast and we need an experienced communicator to join our communications service.
We need a great all-rounder who can help share our news, update our local population about our services and use their creativity to create great content.
You will be an important part of a creative team that delivers high-quality multi-channel campaigns to wide audiences, so you will need to be highly skilled and enthusiastic about quality communications.
This is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious organisation that wants accomplished communicators to help shape our vision.
What you will be doing
Whether it’s working on digital engagement, events, writing content for our social media channels, developing marketing strategies or working with the media and journalists, this is a great opportunity for anyone with creative flair and lots of talent and enthusiasm.
About you
The right candidate must have a ‘can do’ attitude and also:
Excellent written skills
Relevant qualifications and experience
Experience of developing multi-channel campaigns
Experience of working with the media and journalists
Experience of working with agencies and external partners
Account management skills
Knowledge of local government
Crisis communications skills
The job holder will need to be flexible as with most local government communications roles some work outside normal office hours may be required.
