Duties
Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmissions across local and regional routes.
Load and unload freight using forklifts or manual methods, ensuring proper handling of sensitive cargo such as refrigerated goods or hazardous materials.
Drive specialized trucks including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, roll-off trucks, and dump trucks to meet diverse delivery needs.
Plan routes effectively to optimize delivery schedules while adhering to all safety regulations and traffic laws.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer to identify any mechanical issues or safety concerns.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage logs, inspection reports, and compliance documentation.
Communicate professionally with dispatchers and customers to coordinate pickups and deliveries efficiently.
Requirements
Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record.
Experience operating manual transmission trucks required.
Proven truck driving experience with a focus on freight delivery; familiarity with route driving is a plus.
Ability to load freight safely using wheel loaders.
Experience handling belt and walking floor trailers.
Knowledge of safety regulations related to commercial driving and cargo handling.
