Job Description
Job Role: Cluster Head – Data Center Operations
Location: Mumbai, India
About the Role:
We are seeking a seasoned professional to take on the role of Cluster Head – Data Center Operations, a critical position responsible for the strategic development and management of data center operations across a defined region. This includes maintenance, expansion, service level management, efficiency optimization, safety, security, and ensuring seamless operational performance aligned with organizational goals.
The ideal candidate will bring robust expertise in managing large-scale data centers, driving innovation, and aligning operational strategies with business and market demands.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operational Leadership: Manage daily operations, work assignments, and team objectives to ensure smooth functioning of data centers.
• Strategic Development: Evaluate current data center architecture and adapt operational strategies for alignment with organizational goals.
• Infrastructure Expansion: Plan for the expansion of data center infrastructure across domestic and international locations, including forming global alliances.
• Process Optimization: Develop and implement policies and procedures for maintaining an efficient, safe, and clean data center environment.
• Innovation & Transformation: Collaborate with business and IT partners to develop strategic roadmaps for technological innovation and transformation.
• Financial Management: Monitor financial performance, optimize costs, and recommend best practices to enhance service delivery.
Reporting Structure:
• Reports to: Delivery Head / CTO of Data Center Operations
• Direct Reports: Data Center Operations Managers within the region
• Collaborates with: Technology, Sales, and Business Teams
Candidate Profile:
Qualifications:
• Engineering degree from a leading institute with ~20 years of experience in data center operations and management.
• Certifications in ITIL V3, ISO Audit, PMP (preferred), and CDCP.
Experience:
• Proven leadership in managing large-scale data center operations, including network, end-user computing, and service desk functions.
• Expertise in physical equipment installation, server room management, power systems, HVAC, and environmental monitoring.
• Experience in data center migrations and implementing/enforcing SOPs.
Skills:
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
• Proven track record in vendor and stakeholder management.
