This role will play a pivotal part in designing and driving Tenaska’s cloud strategy and systems, collaborating with various business line technology functions, and ensuring cybersecurity requirements are met.

Position Summary

As a key member of Tenaska’s IT Infrastructure team, the Cloud Architect will be responsible for designing and executing Tenaska’s cloud strategy. This role involves working closely with business line technology functions to understand business requirements and partnering with the information security team to ensure cybersecurity standards are upheld. The Cloud Architect will develop, design, and manage cloud technologies, including Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, and related solutions.

Essential Job Functions
• Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure and architecture to support business needs, encompassing IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions.
• Design and implement operational processes and procedures to support a multi-cloud environment (Azure AWS).
• Define and communicate the economic and technical value propositions of cloud solutions compared to on-premises.
• Design, deploy, and manage containerized applications using Sidero, Docker, Kubernetes, or other container orchestration tools.
• Oversee Microsoft 365 administration and implement multifactor authentication solutions.
• Lead server/data migration to cloud platforms and set up server infrastructure in the cloud.
• Manage and track cloud costs, ensuring efficient use of resources.
• Manage and implement suggested changes to already deployed Cloud workloads.
• Integrate public cloud solutions with on-premises private cloud resources.
• Act as the primary Intune administrator for device management and system automation.
• Provide support and escalation assistance to IT staff as needed.

Education/Experience/Skills

Basic Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of hands-on technical experience with cloud services, including Azure, AWS, and Microsoft 365.
• Strong technical knowledge in cloud computing technologies, including experience with infrastructure as code (IaC), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and microservices.
• Demonstrated ability to design cloud-based solutions based on business requirements, with experience creating scalable, highly available systems.
• Strong communication skills for articulating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven project management experience, including creating project plans, tracking progress, and managing resources.
• Expertise in cloud security best practices and the ability to implement security controls.
• Experience with cloud migrations, including applications and systems.

Preferred Requirements
• Certifications in Microsoft Azure or AWS (e.g., Solutions Architect).
• Experience with container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes or Sidero.
• Demonstrated experience in cloud adoption, application readiness assessments, environment prototyping, server builds, data migration, and performance tuning.
• Technical knowledge of infrastructure components, including network, storage, Linux/Windows, and IT security concepts.
• Familiarity with cloud technology stacks and a broad understanding of cloud capabilities.
