About Together We Grow

Together We Grow Montessori School is a new Montessori Casa program preparing to open in Vancouver’s West Broadway community. Our school will serve children ages 2.5 to 5 in thoughtfully prepared, mixed-age Montessori classrooms.

Our philosophy is grounded in respect for each child, authentic Montessori practice, meaningful family partnerships, and a warm school community where children, families, and educators grow together.

We are currently working toward a January 2027 opening, subject to the completion of construction and licensing approvals.

About the Position

We are seeking an experienced, organized, and compassionate Child Care Manager / Centre Administrator to support the successful opening and ongoing operation of our school.

Working closely with the Owner/Principal, the Manager will oversee the school’s day-to-day administration, support educators, communicate with families, and help ensure that all operational practices meet licensing and regulatory requirements.

This is a hands-on leadership position. The successful candidate will be comfortable moving between administration, staff leadership, family communication, admissions support, and classroom coverage when required.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the day-to-day operation of the child care centre
Support the Owner/Principal with pre-opening planning and operational setup
Help ensure compliance with BC child care legislation, licensing requirements, VCH expectations, and school policies
Maintain accurate and confidential child, family, staff, attendance, health, safety, and licensing records
Coordinate staff schedules, breaks, classroom coverage, and substitute arrangements
Support employee recruitment, orientation, training, supervision, and professional development
Monitor staff-to-child ratios and provide classroom coverage when required
Respond professionally and compassionately to family inquiries, concerns, and feedback
Coordinate school tours, enrollment inquiries, admissions follow-up, and family onboarding
Support emergency preparedness, incident reporting, staff training, and health and safety procedures
Assist with staff meetings, performance support, and team communication
Help create a calm, respectful, organized, and collaborative workplace culture
Work closely with the Owner/Principal on school priorities, operations, and continuous improvement
Required Qualifications

Valid British Columbia Early Childhood Educator Certificate
Current Emergency Child Care First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain it before employment
Minimum three years of experience in a licensed early learning or child care setting
Previous experience as a Child Care Manager, Supervisor, Assistant Manager, Program Coordinator, or Lead Educator
Strong knowledge of BC child care licensing requirements and operational practices
Demonstrated experience supporting educators and communicating with families
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organization, judgment, professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail
Ability to use email, shared calendars, digital records, and common office software
Eligibility to work in Canada
Ability to provide satisfactory professional references and complete a Criminal Record Check
Preferred Qualifications

Five or more years of experience in licensed child care
Previous involvement in opening or establishing a new child care centre
Montessori training or experience working in a Montessori environment
Experience with enrollment, parent tours, staff scheduling, licensing inspections, and policy implementation
Additional early childhood credentials or leadership training
What We Offer

Competitive hourly compensation based on qualifications and experience
Full-time, permanent, Monday-to-Friday position
Access to a comprehensive employee benefits plan following successful completion of the three-month probationary period
Vacation, statutory holidays, and illness leave in accordance with BC Employment Standards
Opportunities for paid professional development
A collaborative working relationship with the Owner/Principal
Meaningful involvement in shaping the systems, culture, and future of a new Montessori school
A thoughtfully designed and well-resourced working environment
Start Date

Regular full-time employment is anticipated to begin closer to the school’s opening. Limited paid pre-opening planning, training, and orientation may be available earlier by mutual agreement.

The school is working toward a January 2027 opening, subject to the completion of construction and licensing approvals.
