Certified Public Accountant – Springdale, AR
We are a growing residential construction and real estate development firm seeking a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with experience in construction and real estate finance. The CPA will oversee all accounting operations, ensure accurate job costing, support project budgeting, and provide leadership on compliance, tax filings, and financial reporting. This is a hands-on role critical to maintaining financial health and supporting the strategic growth of our business.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage full-cycle accounting for multiple construction and real estate development projects
Prepare and analyze job cost reports, budgets, and variance reports
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
Track project draws, cost-to-complete, and work-in-progress schedules (WIP)
Coordinate with lenders, title companies, and project managers for construction draws and funding
Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns (corporate and partnership)
Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable construction accounting standards
Maintain the general ledger and reconcile bank and loan accounts
Assist with audit preparation and support external CPA firm as needed
Generate financial reports for ownership and make recommendations based on performance data
Qualifications:
Active CPA license (required)
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
3+ years of accounting experience in residential construction or real estate development
Proficient with construction accounting software (e.g., Buildertrend, Sage 300, QuickBooks)
Strong understanding of job costing, percentage-of-completion accounting, and construction loans
High attention to detail with excellent organizational and time-management skills
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with real estate partnerships and LLCs
Knowledge of 1031 exchanges, cost segregation, and real estate tax strategies
Familiarity with lender reporting requirements and funding schedules
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
