Permanent Part-Time | 16 Hours per Week
Wednesday & Sunday | 10:30am – 7:00pm

We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Catering Assistant to join our team at Cambridge Resthaven. Our kitchen at Resthaven on Vogel provides nutritious, high-quality meals for 135 residents across two sites, supporting a full range of aged-care services, including a dedicated dementia unit.
About the Role
As a Catering Assistant, you will help ensure our residents and café customers receive excellent food and service while maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organised kitchen environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Assisting with food preparation and meal service
Supporting café operations and customer service
Washing dishes and maintaining kitchen cleanliness
Removing rubbish and ensuring a safe, hazard-free workplace
Restocking supplies and assisting with kitchen organisation
Helping with service setup, clearing, and cleaning at the end of shifts
Supporting the kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations
About You
To be successful in this role, you will:
Have previous café, hospitality, or food service experience
Have basic cooking skills or kitchen experience (full training provided)
Be friendly, approachable, and customer-focused
Have excellent communication skills
Be reliable, flexible, and willing to help where needed
Take pride in delivering great service and working as part of a team
Enjoy working in an environment where you can positively impact the lives of others
