About Us:
Henselite is an Australian manufacturer and distributor of lawn bowls and accessories, with over 106 years of experience in producing top-quality lawn bowl products. We're now looking for a careful, detail-focused Hand Painter to join our small production team.
About the role:
This is a hands-on finishing role: you'll apply colour to lawn bowls using a finger-painting technique, working to set colour specifications to produce a clean, consistent finish on every bowl.It's precise, repetitive, satisfying work that suits someone with a steady hand and a good eye.
No formal qualifications are required — full training is provided — but a craft, painting, or fine-detail background is a plus.You'll start on a casual basis 3 days a week. After a review period of a few weeks to a couple of months, strong performers will be offered full-time hours.
Key responsibilities
Apply paint and colour finishes to lawn bowls by hand, using a finger-painting technique
Follow colour specifications and patterns accurately across the full core colour range
Achieve even coverage and clean, crisp edges on grip rings, emblems, and detailing
Maintain colour consistency from bowl to bowl and batch to batch
Inspect finished bowls, identify defects, and carry out touch-ups as needed
Meet daily production targets without compromising on quality
Keep your workstation, paints, and tools clean, stocked, and organised
Follow all workplace health & safety and safe paint-handling procedures
About you
Steady hands and good fine motor control
Strong attention to detail and a sharp eye for colour and consistency
Patient, with the focus to do precise, repetitive work to a high standard
Reliable and punctual, and comfortable with an early 7:00 AM start
Able to work independently and contribute to a small, friendly team
Prior experience in painting, finishing, art, or detail/craft work is well regarded but not essential — we'll train the right person
