Job Description
BC Traditional Homes is a Builder and Project Manager operating in Greater Victoria and beyond. Our clients range from large custom homes, multi-family developments, commercial and light industrial.
The primary position of the Carpenter / Carpenter Foreman is to mentor helpers and apprentices, push the daily schedule, and support the General Site Superintendent where needed. As Lead Hand Carpenter, you will assume a working (tools on) leadership role on-site, overseeing all aspects of the construction project from site preparation to close-out.

Responsibilities and Duties
Duties will include:
Supervise onsite personnel and subcontractors
Interface with project inspectors, contractors, engineers, city officials, and clients
Quality control
Study job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods
Blueprint reading, layout and planning of the day-to-day work to perform project assignments
Manage sub-trades to maintain the project schedule
Organize workflow to meet customer deadlines
Coordinating with the Project Manager and Coordinator
Submittal of daily logs and hours
Maintain high standards of workmanship that adhere to original plans and specification
Promote a strong culture of health and safety
Qualifications and Skills
Previous experience in construction - 3 to 5 years minimum
Strong customer service background and familiarity dealing with Clients and homeowners
Ability to work in collaboration with their reporting General Site Superintendent
Previous experience in construction management
Ability to read blueprints and specifications, create material lists
Strong leadership qualities
Has analytical skills, shows initiative and can be flexible/adaptable
Deadline and detail-oriented
Must have a valid B.C. Driver License with clean driving record
Ability to perform work safely and efficiently with minimal direction
A critical thinker who can anticipate site issues and communicate them to the General Site Superintendent prior to becoming a bigger problem.
Good physical condition in order to meet the site demands.
Strong work ethic, who values a team-oriented environment.
