About Gramophone Design Build
Gramophone Design Build is an award-winning contracting firm serving the Baltimore and Washington, DC metro areas. We specialize in high-end residential projects including kitchens, bathrooms, theaters, and full home renovations. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Carpenter to join our growing Design & Build team.
Position Summary
The Carpenter will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing building frameworks and finishes on high-end residential projects. This is a hands-on, safety-sensitive role requiring strong craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Complete carpentry work on kitchens, bathrooms, basements, and remodeling projects
Framing and structural carpentry
Drywall installation and repair
Finish carpentry including trim, millwork, wall panels, cabinetry, and casework
Door installation
Demolition as required
Perform general labor support tasks as needed
Requirements
5–10 years of professional carpentry experience
Personal set of hand tools and basic power tools
Valid driver’s license
High school diploma or GED
Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
Ability to follow safe work practices
Workers must provide their own safety footwear

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Excellent time management and scheduling skills
Strong problem-solving abilities
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
Effective communication skills with managers, coworkers, subcontractors, and suppliers
Ability to take initiative, ask questions, and follow instructions
Strong math and measurement skills
Physical Work Classification & Demands
Heavy Work: Ability to lift up to 100 lbs occasionally, 50 lbs frequently, and 20 lbs constantly
Jobsite Activity: Walking, standing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing ladders or scaffolding
Heights & Balance: Comfortable working at heights for extended periods
Manual Tasks: Frequent use of hands and wrists with power, rotational, and vibration tools
Communication & Vision: Ability to read plans, take measurements, hear verbal instructions, and respond to safety alarms
