Position Overview
Transitional Builders is seeking a motivated and dependable Carpenter Helper to support our carpentry and construction teams on active job sites. This position is ideal for individuals looking to develop hands-on construction skills while working alongside experienced carpenters and field supervisors. The Carpenter Helper will assist with a variety of construction activities, including site preparation, material handling, installation support, and general labor tasks.

Key Responsibilities
Assist carpenters with construction, renovation, and repair projects.
Transport, organize, and stage materials, tools, and equipment on job sites.
Measure, cut, and prepare materials under the direction of experienced carpenters.
Assist with the installation of framing, drywall, trim, doors, windows, cabinetry, and other building components.
Perform demolition and site preparation activities as required.
Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
Load and unload construction materials and deliveries.
Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively after proper training.
Support project teams in completing tasks according to project schedules and quality standards.
Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors and project managers.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous construction or carpentry experience is a plus but not required.
Strong willingness to learn and develop carpentry skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Reliable transportation to job sites throughout the Hudson Valley region.
Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math calculations preferred.
Ability to follow instructions and work safely in a construction environment.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work on active construction sites for extended periods.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Ability to safely use hand tools and construction equipment.
