We are looking for an energetic, passionate, reliable 1st and 2nd-year Apprentice Carpenter to join our Calgary Manufacturing Plant. This is a union-based position.

Reporting to the Lead hand, Carpenter Apprentice is responsible for assisting in constructing, erecting, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard, conforming to local building codes.

Job Responsibilities:

Build house framework, walls, roof, exterior and interior finishes
Install doors, windows, flooring, cabinets, stairs, handrails, paneling, molding, and ceiling tiles
Repair and remodel existing structures of all kinds
Read and interpret drawings.
Select materials, plan sequences and methods of work, and measure and mark materials to avoid costly mistakes or omissions.
Cut and shape materials and join them with nails, screws, bolts, or glue.
Check completed units to ensure they are level, square, plumb, and in the right size, shape, and location.
Work accurately and economically and follow national and local building codes.
Job Qualifications:

Currently enrolled in a carpentry program and meet the qualifications as a 1st and 2nd year Carpenter Apprentice
Basic math and computer skills
Ability to stand, crouch and kneel for long periods of time
Capacity to lift heavy equipment and materials when required
