Job Overview
We are looking for a CAD Technician to support the design and delivery of Audio Visual (AV) system projects. This role involves preparing accurate technical drawings using AutoCAD, working closely with engineering and project teams, and supporting documentation and installation activities. The position is ideal for someone who enjoys technical drawing work and wants to grow in the AV and low-voltage systems domain.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare AutoCAD drawings for the installation and fabrication of Audio Visual systems
• Develop drawing sets for AV projects, including equipment layouts, mounting details, and wiring representations
• Coordinate with Design Engineers, Project Engineers, and Project Managers to ensure drawings are correct and delivered on time
• Read and understand architectural drawings, technical schematics, and site survey information
• Research AV equipment and components to ensure drawings accurately represent system design
• Assist with maintaining project documentation, revisions, and updates as required
• Use labeling software for identifying racks, cables, and field wiring
• Support basic testing and calibration activities for AV equipment when needed
• Assist installation teams with projector and screen mounting support structures
• Operate office printers and large-format plotters for printing drawings
• Act as a support contact for drawing-related queries in the absence of senior CAD staff
• Provide professional and timely assistance to internal teams and external stakeholders
Skills & Knowledge Required
• Proficiency in AutoDesk AutoCAD
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints
• Basic understanding of audio, video, and control signal flow
• Familiarity with Audio Visual, Electrical, or Mechanical drawings
• Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time
• Good attention to detail and communication skills
• Comfortable working on PCs and standard office software
Education & Experience
• Minimum high school qualification or equivalent
• 1 year of CAD drafting experience preferred
• 1 year of customer interaction or coordination experience preferred
• Valid driver’s license where site visits are required
