Design Engineers NZ is seeking a detail-focused CAD / Design Technician to support engineering teams in producing accurate technical drawings and design documentation across civil, structural, mechanical, or infrastructure projects.
What You'll Do?
Produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings based on engineer instructions.
Develop civil, structural, or mechanical design drawings with engineering teams.
Update and revise drawings based on design changes and feedback.
Prepare construction drawings, layouts, and technical documentation.
Ensure compliance with NZ Building Code and project standards.
Assist with site plans, layouts, and engineering schematics.
Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and surveyors.
Maintain drawing registers and document control systems.
Support design reviews and incorporate senior engineer mark-ups.
What We're Looking For:
Diploma or degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Design Technology (or equivalent experience).
Strong CAD software skills, including:
AutoCAD
Civil 3D and/or Revit (depending on discipline)
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, sketches, and specifications.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Understanding of construction methods and technical design principles.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Experience in NZ construction or infrastructure projects is an advantage.
