Job Description

Business Enterprise Teacher — The Complete Works (TCW) for September 2026

South (SE1) & East (E1) London | 2 days per week minimum (Full-time potential) | £28,300 (£11,300 2 days)

As we step into a new academic year, we’re excited to open up new opportunities across our growing schools. If you're looking for a role where you can truly make a difference, now’s the time to join us.

TCW is an alternative independent school providing bespoke education for students across Key Stages 1–5 who are unable to attend mainstream settings. Many of our students have SEND or have experienced school exclusion. We work across London, providing 1:1 and small group teaching in homes, centres, and libraries – always striving to reignite a love of learning in our students.

We will be interviewing applicants as and when we receive successful applications - so don’t delay in sending your application!

About the Role

We’re looking for a dynamic, engaging teacher to lead Business Enterprise experiences with small groups and 1:1 learners at our South and East London schools (1 day per site). You’ll deliver hands-on, inspiring sessions using our creative, real-world business curriculum — everything from sneaker start-ups to cheese toastie cafés, dog walking ventures to vintage resale shops.

You’ll also work closely with our BTEC team to support coursework completion, ensure high-quality delivery, and develop vocational content.

Want to work full time? You can supplement this role with core subject teaching (Maths, English, Science) across London.

Example Student Projects You Could Be Leading
• Set up a sweet tuck box business for charity.
• Launch a hand-decorated sneaker shop and sell on Etsy.
• Organise a music event or market at school with real vendors and performers.
• Design and run a café, including digital menus and marketing.
• Build a sports coaching company, or explore careers in hair, beauty, or social media influencing.

Your job: Guide students through every step — from ideation and market research to execution, branding, and tracking profit.

Key Responsibilities
• Deliver creative, engaging Business Enterprise lessons to students.
• Support BTEC coursework marking, moderation, and development.
• Plan and lead practical projects that culminate in real business experiences.
• Work collaboratively with other staff, TAs and vocational leaders.
• Attend training and stay aligned with safeguarding and SEND best practices.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:
• A-Level in Business or related subject.
• Strong knowledge of business principles (e.g. branding, finance, marketing).
• Experience teaching young people with SEND or behavioural needs.
• Flexibility to teach across subjects if needed.
• Creativity, passion, and the ability to inspire students with diverse needs.
• Excellent communication, organisational and teamwork skills.

Desirable:
• A degree in Business or related subject.
• Real-world experience running or managing a business/start-up.
• Experience in a creative or alternative education environment.

Why TCW?
• A supportive, collaborative team committed to transforming lives.
• Unique and highly creative curriculum with crossover into Art, Drama, Food, PE, Music and more.
• Weekly training sessions and opportunities to develop your role.
• A flexible, meaningful teaching career beyond the mainstream.

Training:
• Induction Day: One full day (9:00 am – 3:45 pm).
• Induction Training Sessions: Five Tuesday afternoons (4:30 – 6:00 pm).
• Ongoing Professional Development: Weekly sessions on Thursday afternoons (4:30 – 6:00 pm).

Ready to Apply?

If you're excited to bring business to life for students who need it most, we’d love to hear from you.

Interviews: Interviews will take place as we recieve successful applications
