Job Description
Argus Fire Systems Service Limited is one of New Zealand's leading fire protection companies, proudly 100% New Zealand-owned and operated for over 40 years. Our Wellington branch is the largest regional branch outside Auckland, employing approximately 60 talented people and servicing some of the most prestigious and complex sites across the lower North Island.
Due to an internal promotion, we are seeking an exceptional leader to take the helm of our Wellington operation.

About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager Operations, you will have overall responsibility for the performance, growth, and leadership of the Wellington Branch.
You will lead a diverse team spanning:
Service operations
Compliance, BWOF, inspection & testing services
Minor works
Project delivery
Customer service and administration
Business development
The role requires a balance of strategic leadership, commercial acumen, and operational excellence. You will be responsible for ensuring Argus delivers on its commitments to customers while continuing to build a high-performing culture aligned with The Argus Way
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop a team of approximately 60 employees.
Deliver branch financial performance, managing the branch's P&L, forecasting, business planning, and growth in the region
Drive operational excellence across service delivery, compliance, projects, and customer support functions.
Build strong relationships with key customers and industry stakeholders.
Foster a positive, high-performance culture focused on accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Support the development and succession planning of future leaders.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Identify and execute growth opportunities within the Wellington market.
Contribute to national operational initiatives, collaboration, and strategic planning.
About You
We are looking for an experienced operational leader who is passionate about people, customers, and business performance.
You will bring:
Proven experience leading operational or service-based businesses.
A natural ability to engage with people and to lead, motivate, and develop a busy and energetic team
Strong commercial and financial management capability.
Experience leading leaders and developing high-performing teams.
The ability to build trusted relationships with customers and stakeholders.
Excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and an ability to organise resources effectively and efficiently in a dynamic environment
A track record of driving continuous improvement and business growth.
Strong health, safety, and quality leadership credentials.
The confidence and ability to contribute to the management of the business nationally
A minimum of 10 years' experience within the fire protection, building services, facilities management, construction, or related industries would be advantageous.
