Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and innovative Automobile Design Engineer with experience in Electric Vehicle (EV) development. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in SolidWorks and ANSYS and be capable of designing, analyzing, prototyping, and validating EV mobility products from concept to production.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and develop EV-based mobility products, electric wheelchairs, mobility scooters, and other innovative assistive devices.
• Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
• Perform structural, thermal, vibration, and fatigue analysis using ANSYS.
• Design chassis, suspension systems, battery enclosures, sheet metal components, and mechanical assemblies.
• Conduct engineering calculations and simulations to optimize product performance, safety, and durability.
• Work closely with electrical, electronics, and production teams for system integration.
• Develop and validate prototypes through testing and performance evaluation.
• Support product certification, quality improvements, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Prepare engineering documentation, BOMs, technical reports, and design validation records.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction, weight optimization, and manufacturing efficiency.
• Participate in new product development and continuous product improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Automobile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
• 2–5 years of experience in EV vehicle development, automotive product design, or mobility device engineering.
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (Part Modeling, Assembly, Sheet Metal, Weldments, and Drawings).
• Hands-on experience with ANSYS for FEA, structural analysis, and simulation.
• Good understanding of EV architecture, BLDC motors, battery systems, controllers, and vehicle dynamics.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as welding, fabrication, machining, sheet metal, and assembly.
• Familiarity with design standards, GD&T, DFMEA, and DFM principles.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Preferred Skills
• Experience in developing electric wheelchairs, mobility scooters, electric tricycles, or light EVs.
• Knowledge of battery pack integration and thermal management.
• Experience with prototype development and testing.
• Understanding of ergonomics and assistive technology products.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
