We are a leading accountancy and audit practice based in Hamilton offering services to a wide range of businesses and individuals across the UK.

We are looking to add an Audit Assistant to our well-established Audit Department.

As an Audit Assistant, you will support our growing fast-paced team of trainee and qualified auditors, offering a unique opportunity to develop core skills as well as gain hands-on practical experience in audit processes, tasks and learning as you go.

This is an entry-level role, so prior audit experience is not essential. However, we are seeking an individual who has a genuine interest in audit and accounting as a career path and is enthusiastic to learn and develop in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

Delivering basic audit support on aspects of audit jobs - such as file preparation, assisting with the working papers and substantive testing.
Manage the administrative requirements of the team – such as file pack preparation, bank letters, circulations.
Support the auditors (both the qualified and trainees) as required.
Learn how to use a range of software both internally and a variety of client systems [Sage / Pro-Audit]
About You:
To succeed in this role, you should have:

A genuine interest in audit and accounting
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
A positive attitude and a desire to learn
Basic numeracy and familiarity with Microsoft Excel (knowledge of accounting software is a bonus)
Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
