Continued market success has created new opportunities and we are now looking to recruit candidates with a tax and financial background, to help join this successful team. You will have the opportunity to apply your knowledge across a wide range of areas and to help companies identify the RD claims for these incentives. This RD role can involve activities such as data analysis, claim quantification, applying the appropriate tax principles, building client relationships, project management and business development across all sectors and different types of RD and innovation.

As an Associate Director you will be in a client-facing role from day one, managing projects, preparing RD claims, delegating, building the team and involved in growing the practice from a business development perspective. You will be working with a variety of team members from junior to senior grades and be the main point of contact for your clients.
Your responsibilities will include:
Lead projects being the main point of contact with a range of senior stakeholders such as financial controllers, finance directors and chief finance officers.
Build eminence in the market and look for opportunities to grow the team.
Build an internal network within Deloitte and gain an understanding of the services the firm can offer to broaden client relationships and differentiate us in the market.
Work within a project team to ensure that robust RD claims are prepared whilst building deep client relationships.
Preparing clear reports for submission to HMRC to explain how our clients RD claims have been prepared.
Provide technical input into marketing and sales activity based on your area of engineering or scientific knowledge and experience.
Work effectively in diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution.
Project managing a variety of projects at any given time and being able to delegate and work with the technical and finance team around you.

Be a strong communicator, with good interpersonal awareness skills.
Be able to work within multi-disciplinary teams, taking responsibility for the technical aspects of RD claims on the behalf of manufacturing and engineering companies, as well as generating high quality technical reports.
Be well-organised, able to manage multiple projects and handle conflicting demands in a timely manner.

Tax
Our comprehensive range of services encompasses everything from the completion of tax returns (corporation tax self-assessment) to complex consultancy assignments and strategic tax planning. We advise on corporate and general tax, international MA, stamp tax, cross-border transfer pricing, reorganisations and reconstructions, and competent authority negotiations.
Personal independence
Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints (e.g., in relation to any financial interests and employment relationships). This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm, and also prohibitions on certain employment relationships (e.g., you are not permitted to hold a secondary employment role with SEC audit clients of the firm whilst being employed by the firm).
