Overview
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Corporate Tax Manager to join our team. In this role, you will support all areas of our business concerning direct taxes, with a primary focus on UK corporation tax compliance, reporting, and advisory. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring the company's tax obligations are met efficiently and accurately, while providing strategic tax advice to support business objectives.
How you'll make an impact
Manage our UK corporation tax compliance process, including reviewing all computations and returns, ensuring accurate and timely submission to HMRC
Calculate quarterly corporation tax payments due to HMRC and ensuring timely payment
Manage preparation of UK corporation tax provision for UKGAAP statutory accounts, this will involve managing and developing the relationship with the external tax audit team and our internal statutory accounting team
Prepare/review US GAAP quarterly reporting packs for the group’s US parent company
Responsibility for corporation tax balance sheet reconciliations within ERP system
Allocate work to team members in an efficient manner and ensure all deadlines and key priorities are met
Participate in training and development of junior members of the team
Participate in managing tax team’s relationship with HMRC
Involvement in maintaining strong tax governance, ensuring SOX requirements are fully met.
Involvement in MA due diligence projects for UK acquisitions, review data, prepare reports and assist legal counsel.
Involvement in tax advisory projects including, group restructuring and financing, adhoc queries from the business
About You
CTA/CA/ACCA qualification
Strong technical knowledge of corporation tax is essential with a sound understanding of tax accounting principles
US GAAP knowledge is desirable but not essential
Practical experience applying up to date knowledge in either a Practice or Industry environment.
Working knowledge of Thomson Reuters Onesource Corporation Tax
Excellent MS Excel skills (experience with MS Powersuite, Alteryx or Tableau not essential but desired)
Ability to manage and adhere to deadlines.
Ability to keep technical knowledge updated
Excellent organisational skills
Excellent communication skills in all formats.
