DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS

The Department of Mathematics at Wilfrid Laurier University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in Mathematics or Statistics, beginning January 1, 2026, subject to budgetary approval. The primary campus location for this position is Waterloo, however teaching responsibilities may include instruction of students at the Brantford and Milton campus via virtual modes of delivery.

Successful applicants for this position must have:
• Doctorate (PhD) in Statistics, Mathematics or a closely related area,
• Research and teaching expertise in Mathematics or Statistics,
• Outstanding research record or strong evidence of potential to develop an outstanding research program, including supervision of undergraduate and graduate students, and ability to attract external funding
• Excellent teaching record or strong evidence of potential teaching excellence. Preference will be given to applicants who can contribute to the Department’s teaching needs in Statistics or Data Analytics.

Applicants are asked to submit a complete application package consisting of a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, copies of recent publications, a statement of current and prospective research interests, a teaching dossier that includes a statement addressing teaching experience in mathematics or statistics, and at least three letters of reference, one of which significantly addresses the teaching ability of the applicant to:
