Fairfield by Marriott Brooklyn is seeking a hands‑on, energetic, and service‑driven Assistant General Manager to join our leadership team. This role is ideal for a motivated hospitality professional with a strong Marriott background who thrives in an active, guest‑focused environment and leads by example. The ideal candidate also brings sales involvement, supporting revenue growth through relationship‑building, lead generation, and partnership with the Sales team.
About the Role
The Assistant General Manager supports all daily hotel operations, ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction, smooth departmental coordination, and consistent brand compliance. This leader is visible, engaged, and ready to jump in wherever needed—from the front desk to housekeeping to guest recovery. They also play a key role in supporting sales efforts, helping identify opportunities, nurturing local relationships, and contributing to property‑level revenue strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and support daily operations across Front Office, Housekeeping, and Food & Beverage.
Maintain strong presence on the floor, actively assisting teams during peak periods.
Ensure adherence to Marriott brand standards, operational procedures, and quality expectations.
Drive guest satisfaction through timely service recovery, coaching, and follow‑up.
Support hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management of associates.
Assist with scheduling, labor management, and departmental communication.
Monitor property cleanliness, safety, and maintenance needs.
Collaborate with the General Manager on financial performance, forecasting, and operational planning.
Partner with the Sales team to support lead follow‑up, site tours, local outreach, and community engagement.
Help maintain relationships with local businesses, corporate accounts, and community partners.
Contribute to weekly sales strategy discussions and property‑level revenue initiatives.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and high‑energy work culture.
Qualifications
Marriott experience required (Fairfield experience preferred).
Minimum 2–3 years of hotel leadership experience.
Strong understanding of hotel operations, systems, and brand standards.
Hands‑on leadership style with the ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure.
Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and guest‑service skills.
Experience supporting or participating in hotel sales efforts (site tours, lead follow‑up, local outreach).
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
