Job Summary
The Area Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales growth, expanding market presence, managing channel partners, and leading the sales team within the assigned territory. The role focuses on achieving revenue targets, developing customer relationships, implementing sales strategies, and ensuring excellent market execution.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Business Development
Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the assigned territory.
Develop and implement area sales plans aligned with business objectives.
Identify new business opportunities and expand market coverage.
Channel Management
Appoint, develop, and manage distributors, dealers, and retailers.
Ensure availability of products across assigned markets.
Monitor distributor inventory and stock levels.
Improve distributor productivity and profitability.
Resolve channel partner issues and strengthen business relationships.
Team Management
Recruit, train, mentor, and supervise Sales Executives and Territory Sales Officers.
Set individual sales targets and performance objectives.
Conduct regular field visits and coaching sessions.
Customer Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers.
Conduct regular customer visits to understand business requirements.
Resolve customer complaints promptly and professionally.
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
Sales Planning & Reporting
Analyze sales performance and identify growth opportunities.
Submit daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports.
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and recommend corrective actions.
Maintain accurate customer and sales records.
Market Intelligence
Monitor competitor pricing, promotions, and product launches.
Gather market feedback and share insights with management.
Identify emerging market trends and customer needs.
Recommend strategies to improve market share.
Collections & Credit Management
Ensure timely collection of outstanding payments.
Monitor customer credit limits and payment cycles.
Coordinate with the Finance team for overdue accounts.
Minimize bad debts and financial risks.
Compliance
Ensure adherence to company policies, pricing guidelines, and ethical sales practices.
Maintain compliance with legal, regulatory, and safety requirements.
Safeguard company assets and confidential information.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Commerce, or a related field.
MBA in Sales/Marketing is preferred.
Experience
3–4 years of sales experience.
At least 2–3 years of experience in area sales role.
Experience in channel sales and distributor management is preferred.
Pay: ₹800,000.00 - ₹1,000,000.00 per year
